Celebrating Progress, Honoring Advocacy, and Looking Ahead
On February 10, the STARability community came together for a meaningful and inspiring celebration — one that honored both how far we’ve come and where we’re headed next.
Families, participants, staff, key stakeholders, and valued community partners gathered to recognize Florida Developmental Disabilities Day and to celebrate an exciting new chapter in our journey: the future home of STARability’s new campus, featuring the Golisano Program Center.
This milestone represents more than a building. It represents growth. Opportunity. Belonging. It reflects years of dedication, advocacy, and community support — all focused on expanding possibilities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Florida Developmental Disabilities Day serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of advocacy, awareness, and inclusion. It is a day to elevate voices, recognize progress, and reaffirm our shared responsibility to create communities where individuals of all abilities are valued and empowered. Gathering on this day made the celebration even more meaningful, as it aligned perfectly with STARability’s mission to transform lives through innovative, community-based programming.
The event was filled with connection and reflection. Attendees had the opportunity to engage with one another, share stories, and celebrate the collective effort that has brought us to this point. It was a moment to pause and recognize the incredible progress made possible by our dedicated supporters — from families and participants to donors, partners, and advocates.
Most importantly, it was a moment to look ahead.
The future Golisano Program Center will expand opportunities for education, life skills development, career training, and community engagement. It will create space for innovation, growth, and connection — a place designed with purpose and built with heart.
As we look toward the future, one thing remains clear: none of this happens alone. The progress we celebrate today is the result of a compassionate and committed community working together to build a more inclusive tomorrow.
Thank you to everyone who joined us on February 10 and to those who continue to champion inclusive opportunities for individuals of all abilities. The future is bright — and we are building it together.
