STAR CONNECTIONS

Physical Activities are Vitally Important

Physical activities are vitally important for people with and without disabilities. They not only promote healthy lifestyles, but can also benefit individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in unique ways.

Through STARability Foundation’s recreational programs, we are changing the culture of sports and believe they can be an effective supplemental therapy for individuals with disabilities. Keeping STAR participants active and healthy is our key goal through activities such as bowling, baseball and golf.

STAR CONNECTIONS

Bowling

What started as six families meeting weekly at a local bowling alley has grown into three STARability league opportunities for hundreds of STAR participants. Our bowling leagues have become a great place for STARs and their families to network and form lifelong friendships, in addition to enjoying its physical and mental benefits. The sport of bowling is particularly beneficial to people with intellectual disabilities as it ensures physical exercise and social integration at the same time.

PROGRAM DETAILS

Bowling runs year-round and is open to all enrolled STARability participants. The cost is $2.50 per game, maximum of two games.
