Health and Wellness Nurse (RN)

The Health and Wellness Nurse (RN) supports STARability Foundation’s mission by advancing the health, wellness, and safety of individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. This role combines health and wellness support with leadership responsibilities in policy development, staff training, and participant safety. The nurse serves as an on-site resource, guiding staff in health-related considerations, supporting wellness practices, and helping ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive program environment in alignment with organizational policies and regulatory standards. Salary starting from $65,000.

Job Coach

The Job Coach provides direct, individualized support to participants in securing and maintaining employment. This includes assistance at every stage of the employment process, such as pre-employment training, job search activities, interviewing, on-the-job training, and ongoing career development. The Job Coach works closely with employers to facilitate a smooth transition into the workplace by helping participants learn job tasks, establish routines, build natural supports, and promote independence. The Job Coach continues to serve as case leads for assigned participants through the follow-along stages of employment to promote long-term success by monitoring performance, supporting job retention and satisfaction, and identifying areas for continued professional development and career advancement. The Job Coach supports participants in programs focused on vocational training, interpersonal skills development, employment readiness, and career exploration. Salary starting from $21 per hour.

Program Instructor | Trailblazer Academy

The Instructor is an integral member of the STARability Foundation. The Instructor has a passion for advocating for participants and is dedicated to building proficiency in these skills: self-determination and advocacy, health and safety, communication and socialization, leisure and recreation, transportation, community participation and personal finance, career path and employment, and home living.

The Instructor will collaborate closely with our Academy Program Specialists to shape, guide, and assess all facets of the program. The Instructor will be a resource for all Program Assistants.

Compensation: $22-$23 per hour.

Substitute Music Instructor | STARability Music Academy

The Substitute Music Instructor is an integral member of the STARability Music Academy.. The Substitute Music Instructor is crucial in ensuring the efficient and effective day program operation for adults with intellectual disabilities. This position is centered around familiarizing yourself with the Music Academy’s daily schedule and stepping in as needed. Duties may include teaching piano, guitar, voice, music theory, music history, and music technology. The substitute instructor will follow lesson plans provided by the absent teacher but should be flexible and able to adapt lessons when necessary. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, resourceful, and committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Program Assistant | Trailblazer Academy

The Program Assistant is an integral member of the STARability Foundation. The Program Assistant has a passion for advocating for participants and is dedicated to building proficiency in these skills: self-determination and advocacy, health and safety, communication and socialization, leisure and recreation, transportation, community participation and personal finance, career path and employment, and home living.

As a Program Assistant, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting our dedicated team of Instructors and Academy Program Specialists, engaging directly with participants, assisting in lessons, facilitating vocational training, coordinating community activities, and providing coverage across program areas as needed.

Compensation: $20-$21 per hour.

Special Events and Community Engagement Manager

The Manager of Special Events and Community Engagement will assist the Director of Fundraising Events in planning, coordinating, and executing all internal signature fundraising events (Gala, Golf, Run); develop and implement community outreach (third-party) events; and coordinate cultivation and stewardship events related to the Opening Doors Capital Campaign. This role requires a creative, detail-oriented individual who is comfortable taking initiative, excels at managing competing priorities, has excellent follow-up skills, a strong command of the English language, and is comfortable engaging volunteers, committee members, donors, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maximize event deliverables and expand community awareness.

Studio Instructor

The Studio Instructor delivers hands-on instruction and daily participant support within the STARability Studio social enterprise program. Working under the direction of the Senior Studio Manager, the role teaches vocational and creative skills, adapts instruction to individual learning needs, supports participant employees and interns, and represents the Studio at community events. The position exists to create meaningful work opportunities, build participant independence, and produce quality goods for sale, all in alignment with STARability’s mission and inclusive employment model.

Compensation: $22 per hour.
