STARability Foundation is like a matchmaker for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and employers who believe in an inclusive workplace. As an approved provider for the Florida Department of Education Vocational Rehabilitation (VR), we offer job readiness services and connect individuals with local employers and job training sites.
STAR participant Brett B. has been a Seasonal Events Maintenance Worker at Paradise Coast Sports Complex for over a year now. Paradise Coast is a modern, world-class recreational facility and one of STARability’s many inclusive employment partners in Collier County.
Brett’s responsibilities include maintaining and cleaning the fields and preparing for tournaments, as well as helping to clean the maintenance building. He is also learning to drive the facilities’ golf carts to move equipment faster.
Brett is a very hard worker that takes great pride in the work that he does while he’s here. He’s very friendly and easy to talk to and he’s a pleasure to work with,” said supervisor Chip Fosth.
