Thanks to more than 800 generous supporters who came to First Watch’s Friends & Family opening weekend on July 13-14, the STARability Foundation received over $7,000 in donations. The Park Shore restaurant offered complimentary breakfast, brunch and lunch entrees, and a beverage while suggesting donations to STARability.
“We’re happy to support the great work that STARability is doing,” said Regional Manager Joe Chirichella, adding that First Watch recently started dedicating the proceeds of their “soft opening” weekends to nonprofits.
After attending the 2019 STAR Gala, Chirichella was so inspired that he selected STARability as the beneficiary of the opening of their fifth restaurant in Naples in the same neighborhood as the STARability office.
As a new community partner, First Watch serves as a great example of how businesses can support our mission of shining light on abilities, not disabilities.
“We are very appreciative that First Watch took the initiative to support respect for individual abilities and inclusion in our community after learning about what we do,” said Executive Director Karen Govern. “We hope more organizations will reach out to us and help us transform the lives of individuals with disabilities through social, vocational and educational connections to the community.”
First Watch is also providing healthy and delicious refreshments for our upcoming Sibling Saturday Cruise and our 3K Fun Run, Walk & Roll.
