Since 1985, Collier Community Foundation (CCF) has been instrumental in supporting organizations and nonprofits in our community that make a profound impact on the people they serve. CCF has been a longtime supporter of STARability Foundation’s mission of transforming the lives of individuals with disabilities. In the past year, CCF awarded STARability a $10,000 grant to pilot and grow virtual programming. Donors to the foundation also supported STARability’s scholarship fund and its centerpiece program, the Trailblazer Academy, through their donor advised funds.
“We are proud to provide funding to a diverse group of nonprofits, large and small, through individual grants and our annual 24-hour giving day, Give Where You Live Collier,” said Collier Community Foundation President and CEO Eileen Connolly-Keesler. “STARability’s Trailblazer Academy fills a vital need in Collier County by providing young adults with disabilities community-based skill development experiences. We are happy to support this essential program.”
Since 2018, STARability has participated in Give Where You Live Collier, a county-wide fundraising event presented by CCF and the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation to benefit 40 local nonprofits.
“The support of the Collier Community Foundation has meant so much to STARability,” said STARability CEO, Karen Govern. “The foundation’s grants and gifts directed by donors have made it possible for us to grow programs like the Trailblazer Academy and to start virtual programs during the pandemic,” she said. “And the foundation’s Give Where You Live Collier campaign has introduced us to a larger community of new supporters. We’re very grateful to the community foundation for believing in our STAR participants and their abilities.”
Thank you, Collier Community Foundation!
