Enriching After-School Program

The Jr. Trailblazer Academy is our enriching after-school program that provides opportunities to high school students ages 14-22 to help facilitate a successful transition as they age out of traditional school programming. Students participate in active and engaging community-based activities that complement their educational goals and employment aspirations.

PROGRAM BENEFITS

  • Employment Readiness Training in-house and in the community
  • Life Skills Education classes and hands-on experiences with cooking, nutrition, money management, community safety, social skills and home living
  • Community Connections Projects with local businesses and nonprofits
  • Art and Therapeutic Practices including photography, horticultural wellness and art classes
  • Indoor and Outdoor Recreation through sports, dance and fitness classes

A Circle of Support

Staff works closely with participants’ schools to be included in their circle of support and help the students achieve their goals. Staff attends participants’ Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings to learn and support academic goals during the program year.
