Congratulations to STARability board member and parent Laura Georgelos for being recognized by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP): Collier-Lee Chapter as a Distinguished Volunteer! Laura will be formally awarded this special honor Nov. 17, on National Philanthropy Day.
Describing Laura in one word is difficult. She brings boundless passion and creativity to our mission. She’s used these qualities to help build a foundation of support that have enabled her daughter, Tori, and other individuals with disabilities to flourish in our programs. Laura’s an energetic fundraiser who successfully co-chaired two STAR Galas and helped create a virtual fundraiser. And she’s an ambassador who shares our mission. So what word describes Laura? She’s our STAR.
