Record-breaking 4th Annual 3K Fun Run, Walk & Roll for STARability

They ran, they walked, and they rolled across the finish line at STARability Foundation’s 4th Annual 3K Fun Run, Walk & Roll, which was held on Oct. 16 at Paradise Coast Sports Complex. The family-friendly 3K was an inclusive event for all ages and abilities, and with more than 325 participants, the event raised $53,200, making it STARability’s most successful Fun Run to date.

Co-chairs Jeff and Maureen Maconaghy were excited about the turnout and the commitment and participation of this year’s sponsors.

Participating sponsors who helped to make this event possible included AssuredPartners Transportation, Best Buddies Southwest Florida, The Brace Place, Dance Arts by Maria, Gulfshore Life, Laura & Leisa Luxury Group, Marco Office Supply, Naples Daily News, Naples Pool Service, Searcy Financial Services, The Cooney Family and The Sylvester Family. The morning also included vendor booths, games and giveaways, and several food trucks.

“The 3K Fun Run, Walk & Roll is an inclusive, community event that embodies our mission of transforming the lives of individuals with disabilities through social, vocational and educational connections in the community,” said Karen Govern, STARability’s CEO. “The proceeds are vital to ensure STARability can preserve and expand its innovative programs and services that shine light on ability, not disability. We are very humbled and grateful for all who participated in this record-breaking event.”
