Save the Date to run, walk or roll for STARability Foundation’s 5th Annual 3K/5K on October 22
A family- and pet-friendly inclusive event for all ages and abilities!
STARability Foundation is excited to announce the return of the Run, Walk & Roll event on Oct. 22 at Paradise Coast Sports Complex in Naples. Due to last year’s record-breaking success, the 2022 event has been expanded to include a 5K run. The event will begin at 8 a.m. Tickets are $35; ages 12 and younger are free.
STARability’s 3K/5K Run, Walk & Roll serves as both a fundraiser and friendraiser, and is critical to the organization’s mission of transforming the lives of individuals with disabilities through social, vocational and educational connections in the community. Financial support from events such as this ensures STAR participants can develop their skills, find jobs and make lasting connections.
Sponsorship opportunities are available, providing sponsors and underwriters exposure to diverse members of the community.
Co-chairs Jeff and Maureen Maconaghy are returning to host the event.
After discovering STARability Foundation in 2021 and learning more about its mission, the couple quickly became two of their biggest supporters. Jeff, a tenured NCAA Division I Football Official, serves on STARability’s board of directors. Maureen began volunteering with STARability shortly after he joined the board, teaching art and cooking classes, with hopes to begin instructing a dance class soon.
“Maureen and I are even more excited to chair the 3K/5K this year given the strides that STARability continues to make within Collier County,” said Jeff Maconaghy. “The services and vocational training provided to our STARs is so important and meaningful that words don’t do it justice. We have dedicated employees who work tirelessly to train our STARs and promote inclusion and our deep bench of volunteers are the glue. We raised over $53,000 in 2021, more than doubling funds raised in 2020. We’re raising the bar with our $75,500 goal for 2022, confident our local businesses, family and friends will recognize and support this worthy cause.”
