Here at the STARability Foundation, we count on community support to help us achieve our goal of an inclusive community and transform the lives of our participants. We are so thankful to those businesses and organizations who believe in STARability’s mission, and we’ve decided to highlight one “STAR Business” each quarter. Our first STAR Business Spotlight is on a true pillar of STARability’s success, Stofft Cooney Architects.
At Stofft Cooney Architects, Randall Stofft and John Cooney design and oversee timeless and sought-after projects in the residential, commercial and resort architectural communities throughout Florida, Caribbean and select locales across the globe. The involvement of the firm with STARability is longstanding and beautifully personal, as John and his wife, Carrie, are parents to STARability participant Brett Cooney.
STARability is immeasurably grateful to Stofft Cooney Architects for their long-term corporate support, as a major sponsor of the annual STAR Gala as well as other fundraising initiatives, such as the annual 3K Fun Run, Walk & Roll. Stofft Cooney is further investing in the future of STARability in a major way: by donating architectural services for a center of our own. And, recently, Stofft Cooney made a commitment to inclusive employment by hiring Trailblazer participant Matt Martel.
John and Carrie Cooney serve in key volunteer leadership roles, with Carrie as 1st vice president of the board of directors and returning co-chair of the STAR Gala and John as a member of the advisory board. They additionally were instrumental in launching STARability’s vocational and life skills program the Trailblazer Academy in 2016, as well as STARability’s upscale resale shop, the STAR Store, in 2019, to which Stofft Cooney Architects continues to provide donations of high-quality furnishings.
Thank you, Stofft Cooney Architects and the Cooney Family, for everything you have done and continue to do to shine a light on ability!
