STARability Foundation Announces Co-Chairs for 2021 Fundraising Event

STARability Foundation is excited to announce Jennifer Haire and Rochelle Shucart will be leading the 2021 annual fundraising as event co-chairs. While the popular STAR Gala will return in 2022, the 2021 fundraising event will be held on February 27 with a different format to accommodate smaller gatherings but with the same amount of enthusiasm for the mission and purpose.

The 2021 premier event, Dining for the STARs, will be a new virtual platform for raising funds in a safe, friendly and fun atmosphere complete with intimate dinners hosted by donors and supporters at their homes and streamed live plus a virtual auction.

Co-chair Jennifer Haire is the managing director with Stofft Cooney Architects and has been very involved with the STARability Foundation for four years as a volunteer and member of the Gala committee for the past three. Haire noted that Naples has been coined to be one of the “happiest and healthiest” cities in the nation but feels, as a community, we need to do more to include and give attention to individuals with special needs and disabilities.

“As co-chair, I hope to introduce new supporters to STARability,” says Haire. “We want to invite local businesses and community leaders to participate in this wonderful event to shed light on the mission of this Foundation that has been a part of our community for many years.”

Rochelle Shucart, co-chair, is the owner of Rochelle Shucart Photography LLC and has been involved with the non-profit organization for two years.

“I am so excited to see this new, innovative idea of a premier virtual event come to life and unite STARability supporters,” says Shucart. “I had the pleasure of attending the 2020 STAR Gala and was inspired by the generosity of so many supporters, and seeing the STARability participants attend the event touched my heart. I am thankful to be working with such a great team and inspirational organization.”

Both co-chairs agree that they want to help the STARability Foundation by creating a fun and inspiring evening that showcases the organization’s mission of shining a light on ability, not disability. The funds raised will help ensure that STARability can continue to transform the lives of individuals with disabilities through vocational and educational programs as well as social and community connections.
