STARability Recognizes Vocational Partners During National Disability Employment Awareness Month

STARability Foundation is recognizing its vocational partners in honor of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, observed annually in October. This year’s theme – “Disability: Part of the Equity Equation” – celebrates the contributions of America’s workers with disabilities and the important role they play in our diverse and inclusive workforce.

STARability matches individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to supportive, inclusive employers. Through STARability’s vocational services, participants learn job skills, explore career opportunities and find employment with businesses that believe in their abilities.

“Inclusive employers throughout the community are the foundation of our vocational services program,” said Karen Govern, CEO of STARability Foundation. “We appreciate each and every one for providing life-changing opportunities for participants. Our successful matches are made possible through the support of vocational partners that truly believe in our STARs.”

Currently, STARability partners with a variety of organizations for vocational training and employment opportunities, including Air Bar Blowouts & Extensions, Arthrex, Avow, BCB Homes, Cosmos Ristorante & Pizzeria, Driftwood Garden Center, Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples (CMON), House of Gaia, Laces of Love, Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza, Naples Art, Naples Botanical Garden, Naples Therapeutic Riding Center, Oakes Farm Market, Pampered Pet Resorts, Publix, Seed to Table, St. Matthew’s House, Stofft Cooney Architects, Tacos & Tequila Cantina, The Collective and The Naples Players.

As an approved provider for the Florida Department of Education Vocational Rehabilitation, STARability offers job readiness services and connects individuals with local employers and job training sites, providing comprehensive services such as a skill and interest inventory, interview preparation and onsite job coaching.
