STARability Foundation celebrates partnership with The Scout Guide Naples following successful Scouted Mahjong Charity Open Play event

STARability Foundation is proud to have been selected as the featured nonprofit in the newest edition of The Scout Guide Naples. The partnership recently culminated in the Scouted Mahjong Charity Open Play event at The Quarry Beach Club, where league members, community supporters and local businesses came together to raise $1,400 in support of STARability’s mission of transforming the lives of people with autism and other developmental disabilities.

The generosity of everyone involved allows us to continue creating pathways to employment, independence and meaningful community engagement for the people we serve.”

Organized in partnership with SWFL Mahjong, the special open-play event combined friendly competition with philanthropy, bringing together players from across Southwest Florida to support STARability’s innovative programs while celebrating the nonprofit’s impact on the community. The event reflects the shared commitment of STARability and The Scout Guide Naples to fostering inclusivity through increased awareness, meaningful partnerships and community engagement.

Guests also had the opportunity to experience STARability’s mission firsthand through the STAR Studio, the organization’s social enterprise that provides paid employment, internships, vocational training, volunteer opportunities and creative classes for more than 140 participants. STAR Studio participants showcased and sold handcrafted products while sharing how the program helps individuals build confidence, develop job skills and express their creativity. The tournament’s top three finishers were each presented with a limited-edition mahjong-themed candle handcrafted by STAR Studio artists.

As the featured nonprofit in The Scout Guide Naples’ latest edition, STARability is reaching new audiences while building relationships with local businesses and community leaders who share its commitment to inclusion and opportunity for all.

Proceeds from the Scouted Mahjong tournament will support STARability’s innovative programs that foster employment, continuing education, health and wellness, social connection and community inclusion for people with autism and other developmental disabilities.
